Even before I owned my first DSLR, I would bring a camera everywhere with me. My family and friends could always count on me to take pictures at all of our events and gatherings. Over time, that responsibility became less about my willingness to bring a camera with me everywhere I went, but more about my ability to know when and how to take the pictures that would best recant the events from the day.

After college (at my beloved University of Iowa), I worked in corporate America for 10 years in consumer product marketing. It was a great experience for me, but deep down I always knew it wasn’t where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. After becoming a mom and receiving my first DSLR (best gift ever!), I knew right where my future was headed. It all just “clicked” (no pun intended). I went back to school and Kara LeeAnn Photography was born.

KLP was born out of my desire to capture every special moment of my life.

MEET KARA

I am married to my high school sweetheart and best friend, Brian. We have 3 children, Brayden (13), Hadley (10) and Jocelyn (6). They are my world! We live in an incredible community in Aurora, IL (right down the street from the high school where my husband and I met!).

Simply put, I like to stay busy.Besides being a wife, mother, and photographer, I also enjoy working out at Burn Boot Camp Naperville , hanging out in our backyard/pool, date nights with my hubby and RED WINE!

I look forward to meeting you and your family and learning all about you!

and a little bit about me...

I want to create and share those moments for you. Life is a collection of memories, but unfortunately memories can be forgotten. Any camera can capture images, but at Kara LeeAnn Photography I try and capture moments and memories that tell a story and stay with you and your family forever. I am SWOON by smiles & giggles, I have a soft spot for kissing photos & love capturing all things celebratory. My goal is to make every session comfortable and fun.

I am often asked to describe my photography style. Simply put, I like to focus on the up-close and natural expressions of my clients. Whether that’s a family of four interacting with each other, a high school senior self-reflecting, or a baby taking in the sights and sounds of a new world, I try to capture the raw beauty of life and family. My sessions are a combination of posed and natural shots.

The ones you feel like you could stare at endlessly

I know what it feels like to capture that perfect picture of your loved ones
