I photograph all of my outdoor sessions 1.5 hours before sunset. This time varies throughout the year. Summer will be much later in the evening than Spring and Fall.

I know what you are thinking: “Oh gosh, my child is going to be a total monster being up past their bedtime.” I can assure you that almost every, single child does great staying up past their bedtime, just this once. I promise, my goal is to make it fun and exciting so they don’t even realize they are off schedule.

If sunset timing is absolutely not going to work for your family, I do alternatively schedule morning sessions (8-9am start time) on select days.

Session time:

I have a lot of clients ask me which mini session they should choose. It really comes down to 2 things.

1. How many images do you want?
2. How much shooting time do you think your family needs to achieve the desired # of images you would like?

Mini Light - This is a QUICK 15 min usually in one location spot. After viewing your gallery you will choose 5 images with the option to purchase more if you desire.
Mini - A mini session is 30 min in length. We will bounce around to a few spots at one location. After viewing your gallery you will choose 10 images with the option to purchase more if you desire.
Mini Plus - With the mini plus we will shoot for the exact same amount of time as a mini but you will receive all the images.

Additional images after viewing your gallery ate $20 each, 5 for $50 or $100 for all the images.

Should I choose a mini light, mini or mini Plus session?

I highly suggest not making other plans that day. Having a crazy, active day could make the kiddos extra tired. With the session being likely around bedtime, this could make for some extra, tired kids. For the kids that still nap, do late naps that day. I also suggest doing an early dinner that night. It is super important to have kids with a happy, full belly. We don’t want Hangry kids for photos.

Please plan to arrive 10 – 15 minutes before your session. The added stress of running late doesn’t translate well to pictures. That said, don’t get discouraged if you children are not being perfect little angels right away; we will try plenty of different set-ups until we find ones that work. Although I “set” a time constraint on your session, I will never “quit” until I have shots that you are satisfied with.

I typically bring a little ‘reward’ for the end of your session (lollipop, etc). If you don’t want your child have one, please let me know.

Day of Your Session

Child essentials (diaper bag)
Snacks
Stroller (if we have a longer walk)
Change of clothing for kids
Drinks (sippy cup or bottle of water)
Wipes for messes
Brush
Hair clips (bobby pins)
Blanket you want in pictures (if you have one you want to use, I will also bring some).
Any props you want to use, remember less is more!

What to Bring

I will determine if the weather is bad enough to reschedule. I typically wait till the day of your session to make that decision. Weather can fluctuate quite a bit, even just hours before. I will not reschedule just for clouds or a gloomy day, as some of the best pictures are taken when the sun is hiding behind clouds. I may request bumping our session time up a little bit, if your schedule allows, so please try and maintain some flexibility on the day of your shoot if possible.

Depending on the time of the year, it might be buggy out. I always have Off Deep Woods bug spray with me. If you prefer something different, please make sure you bring that with you.

You can order directly from your gallery link when it is sent out. Your order will arrive in directly to your house.

All digital files include a print release. You can download and print your photo release on my website. I do not guarantee the quality of photographs printed from any other photo lab except if you order directly from me or Mpix (www.mpix.com). When printing from a lab do not choose the color correction option.

Printing & Print Release

It normally takes 2 weeks to receive your images. You will receive a link to download your high-resolution images. The images from the session will be available online for 2 weeks and archived for one year. If you would like your gallery kept online for longer than 2 weeks please let me know.

Delivery/Archiving of Photos

Avoid screen shoting images to your phone. It will compromise the clarity, coloring and overall quality of the image. If you would like to share photos from your phone, the best way is to email them to yourself and then save to your phone.

Avoid Screen Shots

You will receive only the edited images of the files from your session, a limited print release, and instructions on how to best download and print your high-resolution files. Digital files are not to be altered or edited in any way, nor are they to be resold. This includes adding filters on instagram and changing your photos to black and white. If you need any edits to your images please let me know.
